The Qaddafi Family Scrapbook
Qaddafi was killed today… much to the relief of many. This link is for a collection of scrapbook photos retrieved from his compound that gives insight into his private life including time spent with his family. Whilst his death will be rejoiced by many and will enable the lybian people to move forward in creating a more peaceful and stable society I find that albums like this very sobering. Despite the fact that he was an evil man and therefore his death feels in some sense justified (and his actions should not in anyway be approved of) albums like this should remind us that even dictators are human beings and the death of any human being is tragic and sorrowful. The potential and hope the future now holds for lybia is worthy of celebration and joy-but the death of a person is not a joyful event- ever. My prayers are with both the lybian people and Qaddafi’s friends and family.
